It is my sincerest hope that your summer months have been ones filled with happiness and good health, as we finalize preparations for the start of the new academic year at Our Lady of the Rosary CES.
Please rest assured that the school staff have been working around the clock to ensure that all health and safety measures have been addressed in creating the most optimal, safe learning environments.
We look forward to welcoming back all of students in both cohorts, the “in-person” face-to-face learners and the “Remote/Online” students and wish them a fantastic start to the school year.
- As you may already know, the “Staggered” Re-entry dates have been revised as per the recent letter issue by Director-Designate. Mary Battista on August 27, 2020. Please see the attached letter # 1.

Also, a second update was released by the Director’s Office on Friday, August 28th which contains an overview of some important updates regarding “Revised Staggered Re-entry Dates” for JK-Grade 8, as well as, information regarding COVID-19 Self-Assessment, the Rules of Mask Wearing and What students should bring to school?.

To date, the Revised Staggered Re-entry Dates for ALL YCDSB Elementary Schools are as follows:
All Elementary:
September 8 and 9: no students – staff preparing for learning during Covid-19
Elementary Start Dates:
September 10: Grades 1-3
September 11: JK/SK
September 14: Grades 7 & 8
September 15: Grades 4-6
NOTE: Once students return to school on their designated start date, they will continue to attend school every day after that.
Elementary Switching Between “In-Person” and “Remote Learning” Dates Have Been Adjusted:
As a result of the staggered entry dates, we have extended the deadline for elementary parents to choose to switch their child between face to face and remote learning from October 13, 2020 to November 16, 2020. Parents must notify the school of their request by November 1, 2020. If you wish to change your choice of face to face or remote learning based on this new information, please contact your child’s school before 3 pm on Friday, August 28, 2020
Please note that specific and detailed Re-entry information for ALL OLR Families will be communicated the week of August 31, 2020.
