March 11th, 2026
Good Morning OLR Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
OLR is launching a new initiative to support families in need. This is a meaningful opportunity to place Jesus and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of our Pilgrims of Hope journey, which calls our community to nurture faith formation, promote well-being, and live out our Catholic identity through stewardship to others.
Throughout the months of March and April, our students reflect on the Catholic virtues of perseverance and reverence. Perseverance reminds us to continue doing good works even when challenges arise, while reverence calls us to honour God and respect the dignity of every person and all of God’s creation.
Through this initiative, our students will have the opportunity to live out these virtues in action as we prepare for Catholic Education Week in May, a time when we celebrate the gift and mission of Catholic education in our community.
Our school community will be working with Ronald McDonald House Charities (information about them LINKED HERE) in downtown Toronto. Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill children who are undergoing medical treatment at hospitals in Toronto.
They are currently in need of the following items:
- Hygiene items: Toothbrushes , Toothpaste, Deodorant,Shampoo, Conditioner, Body wash / soap,
- Other supplies: Canvases, Washable paint, Construction paper and Markers
Donations can be brought to the school library over the next few weeks.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mr. R Caruso
Principal
