Winter Carnaval is coming to OLR…
It’s that time of the winter season when Our Lady of the Rosary will once again be celebrating a “fun-filled” CARNAVAL celebration week. We are encouraging students to get in the spirit of Carnaval by participating in the various theme days organized for the week of Monday, February 13th – Friday, February 17th, 2023.
To kick off the Carnaval fun, an interesting fact will be shared with classes during morning announcements about Carnaval each day during the week of Monday, February 13th to 17th. BONHOMME will also make some guest appearances throughout the week and be visiting classes. This year, on Tuesday February 14th, we are also having a “Masquerade Ball” dance with sweet treats being sold by our Luke 4:18 members throughout the day at our Valentine Bake Sale. During French classes, students will be learning about Carnaval and completing various activities based on this theme.
Monday, February 13th: “Sunny Day”
Students and staff are encouraged to wear sunny day wear such as: sunglasses, t-shirts, etc to enhance their school spirit.
Tuesday, February 14th: “Masquerade Ball”-Dance Day
Students and staff are encouraged to dress in their best for this special dance.
Wednesday, February 15th: Wear your Favourite Colour
Students and staff are encouraged to wear their favourite colour.
Thursday, February 16th: “Tuque Day’
Students and staff are encouraged to wear unique tuques or hats.
Friday, February 17th: Volleyball Game/Jersey Day
Students and staff will be watching and supporting our Junior and Intermediate teams as they play against each other in some friendly games.
