OLR WELCOMES MR. ERROL LEE

Our Lady of the Rosary CES is pleased to announce that Canadian recording artist and author, Errol Lee, son of Jamaican music producer, Bunny Lee and recording artist, Merlene Webber, will be visiting with our school community, virtually and in person to motivate, inspire and most importantly, challenge our students, staff and parents to think critically through an anti-oppression lens.  Errol will be delivering the following programs, strategies and initiatives on Tuesday, February 8, 2022:

9:10-10:10 am (K-2 “I Care”) Errol will present to one physical class and live stream for the remaining classes. Students will learn ways in which they can show they care and why it’s important. Concepts include how what children say and do can have a positive impact on those around them and how they can choose to be kind and caring.

10:30-11:30 am (Gr. 3-5 “The Hero Club”) Errol will present to one physical class and live stream for the remaining classes. Students will experience bullying through the eyes of a victim, a bystander, and an upstander. Concepts include the importance of having empathy, standing up for others, and being confident.

12:50-1:50 pm (Gr. 6-8 Be a STAR: Stand together Against Racism) Errol will present to one physical class and live stream for the remaining classes. Students will learn about the causes and effects of racism. Concepts include recognizing racism and taking action to promote understanding, compassion, and acceptance.

Topic: Parenting Character

Participants: parents, foster parents, grandparents, guardians

This program examines the importance of caregiving adults in the development of a child’s good character. The focus will be on the five most important traits necessary for adults to teach, model, and nurture positive character in their children.
