OLR Halloween Spook-a-thon 2021!

Dear OLR Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

Our Lady of the Rosary CES will be having a Halloween fundraiser this year with the re-instatement of our annual Halloween Spook-a-thon, which will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021. All proceeds will go towards supporting student activities, including the provision of additional resources, computers and peripherals, arts, music and STREAM related resources and programs, special presentations and much more!

All classes will be participating in our Dance-a-thon and students will be receiving a hardcopy pledge sheet today. Additional pledge sheets can be obtained from the main office as required. As OLR is offering student prizes based on pledges obtained, parents are asked to clearly indicate on the hardcopy of the school pledge form all online pledge amounts that were made online by a supporter.

Individual pledges of $3 or more for our Spook-a-thon are eligible for and will receive a tax receipt. At this time, due to COVID-19 Health and Safety measures, only online pledge donations will be accepted.

All pledge sheets, which outline all online donations made should be returned to your child’s classroom teacher between Tuesday, October 22 and Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021.

Important:

We encourage all parents/guardians to utilize the York Catholic District School Board’s online payment system for any pledge donation amounts over $3.00 at www.canadahelps.org This is a safe and secure method to make an individual donation to the school through an on-line payment method (Credit Card, PayPal, Gift Card) and receive a tax receipt immediately. York Catholic District School Board Aurora is the charity name. Please select the school name (Our Lady of the Rosary CES) from the “Apply your donation to a specific fund set up by this charity” drop down list. To identify this donation for a particular student, indicate the student’s name in the “send a message for this charity” or the “in honour” section below.

Please note that this initiative will follow all current YCDSB and York Region Public Health COVID-19 Health and safety measures. The Halloween Dance-a-thon event is scheduled for the outdoors with designated areas for cohorts. In the event of rain, a staggered schedule and time for EACH separate cohort will go into effect and again, all YCDSB and York Region Public Health COVID-19 related Health and safety measures will be followed.
