I would also encourage you to review the updated YCDSB Re-entry Plan, as well as, updated “In Person” Hybrid Learning and important school reopening related information for parents from York Region Public Health, a letter to parents from the YCDSB Mental Health Dept., and the UPDATED York Region Public Health COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening Tool, which all parents/guardians must ensure is completed with their child on a daily basis.
If your child has any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or answers yes to any of the questions on the screening tool, do not send them to school, seek assessment and testing at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre and notify your school.
All York Region Catholic School Board students, staff and essential visitors must complete the York Region Public Health COVID-19 School and Child-Care Screening Tool every day before going to school/work.
When to stay home:
- If a students have ONE symptom of COVID-19, they must stay home from school and get tested for COVID-19 at an Assessment Centre.
- If anyone in the household has travelled outside of Canada, all members of the household must stay home from school until the 14-day self-isolation period has finished, except for essential reasons.
- If anyone in your household is sick and has not tested negative for COVID-19, or does not have an alternative diagnosis from a health care provider, all others in the household must stay home from school and child care until the results are known or an alternative diagnosis is provided.
- If someone in the household is identified as a high-risk/close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case, the whole household is required to stay home from school for the 14-day self-isolation period except for essential reasons.

Finally, please note that Ministry of Education has postponed March Break for the 2020-2021 academic year to April 12-16, 2021 in consideration of Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and public health.
