Dear OLR Families:
The Loyola Arrupe Centre for Active Living Virtual Advent Exchange: Music Teacher, Ms. Mino, Ms. Sloane and students from an assortment of grades collaborated to showcase their talents to bring Advent and Christmas Cheer by way of a virtual Advent exchange with members and residents of the Loyola Arrupe Centre for Active Living, a sister agency affiliated with ShareLife Catholic charities. The LA Centre is a “volunteer based community organization made up of a skilled team of instructors and volunteers who lead various affordable, socially engaging programs and services, which promote health, independence and spirituality for people ages 55+.
Thank you to Michael Penafiel, Schools and Campaigns Coordinator at ShareLife and Cristina Guian from the Loyola Arrupe Centre for making this happen.
OLR would like to acknowledge the students’ commitment to engaging an often forgotten segment of our community, the elderly, and we would like to thank our amazing Itinerant Music Teacher, Ms. F. Aiko-Mino and our dedicated and creative Grade 8 teacher, Ms. S. Sloane for her vision of this initiative!
